Planet Portal is live! A brand new portal to revolutionise the way you access and manage payments at Planet
Version: 1.0.0 | Release Date: 2025-04-01
The first release of Planet Portal introduces a platform designed to streamline payment operations. This initial version allows you to monitor real-time transactions, process refunds, captures, and cancellations, and generate payment links for seamless consumer checkouts. It also includes the Virtual Terminal for initiating payments and essential account and permission management features, providing a solid foundation for efficient payment processing.
The new portal introduces several key enhancements over the legacy platforms (Datatrans, 3C, and MWEB). It consolidates multiple systems into a single, unified platform, offering a streamlined solution that simplifies access and management. Users benefit from enhanced data visibility and control over their payment transactions, allowing for more informed decision-making. Additionally, the portal features optimised workflows designed to reduce inefficiencies through a more intuitive and efficient process. Complementing these improvements is a modernised user interface, delivering a refreshed, user-friendly design that enhances the overall experience.
Key features:
- Transaction Management: view and track real-time payment transactions.
- Refunds, Captures, and Cancellations: process refunds, capture authorised payments, and cancel transactions.
- Account and Permission Management: manage user roles and access levels efficiently.
- Pay by Link: generate and share payment links for customisable customer checkouts.
- Virtual Terminal: create and process new payments manually via the portal.

Evolving the Planet Portal experience
The Planet Portal continues its mission to provide a single, unified platform for managing and operating payment activity across Planet. This release builds on our foundation by expanding operational visibility and introducing early-stage tooling to support terminal management and improved usability.
Version: 2.1.0 | Release Date: 2025-11-30
As we grow the Portal, our focus remains on clarity, control, and efficiency—enabling teams to access the information they need faster, reduce operational friction, and confidently manage their payment estate from one place.
What’s new
Terminal Management (MVP)
We introduce the first version of Terminal Management, allowing users to:
- View a list of terminals
- Access terminal details
- Enable or disable terminals as needed
- Assign and manage friendly terminal names for easier identification
This MVP lays the groundwork for more advanced terminal controls and insights in future releases.
Improved Transaction Navigation
- Filter transactions by Terminal ID
- Navigate directly from terminal details to related transactions
These enhancements make it easier to investigate activity and connect transactions to physical devices.
Personal Timezone Settings
- Users can now define their preferred timezone in personal settings
- Dates and times across the Portal will reflect this preference, improving accuracy and cross‑team collaboration
Looking ahead
Terminal visibility and traceability are core building blocks of the Portal’s scope. This initial capability sets the stage for deeper operational controls, reporting, and automation as we continue to expand the platform.
2.1.0 – April 2026 Release
Advancing operational insight and control in Planet Portal
Planet Portal continues to evolve as the central platform for operating, managing, and understanding payments across Planet. This release expands both operational capabilities and analytical foundations—bringing richer transaction data, stronger terminal organisation, seamless access control, extended payment operations, and the first step into reporting.
Version: 2.2.0 | Release Date: 2026-04-01
Our focus in this release is twofold:
enhancing day‑to‑day payment operations while laying the groundwork for insight‑driven decision‑making, scalability, and automation.
What’s new?
Single Sign‑On (SSO)
- Single Sign‑On is now available for Planet Portal
- Users can access the Portal using their existing organisation credentials
SSO improves security, simplifies access management, and enables a smoother user experience across Planet systems—supporting enterprise‑grade scalability and compliance.
Terminal Management Enhancements
Terminal Management continues to mature with features aimed at improving store-level organisation and provisioning:
- Add Tags to terminals to support store management, grouping, and operational workflows
- Continue managing terminal status and identifying devices through friendly names
Tags introduce structure and scalability, preparing Terminal Management for larger estates and more complex operational needs.
Expanded Payment Operations
- DCC captures and refunds are now available in the Portal
This further reduces reliance on external systems and reinforces the Portal as the primary space for managing payment operations end‑to‑end.
Reports
- Access standard reports directly in the Portal
- Gain structured visibility into transactions and performance metrics
Reports mark a significant step toward transforming operational data into actionable insight.
Scheduled Reports
- Configure reports to run automatically on a defined schedule
- Ensure stakeholders receive consistent, timely information without manual effort
Scheduled reporting helps reduce operational overhead while maintaining data accessibility.
Where we’re heading
With this release, Planet Portal moves closer to its long‑term vision of being a single source of truth for payments—combining secure access, execution, device management, and data insight in one unified experience. These capabilities form the foundation for future expansion into deeper analytics, automation, and self‑service insights across the payments lifecycle.
